Flesh Beast

Spell · Necromancer level 12 · (helpful)
Mana: 37Int: 19Wis: 17(28% per practice)
Requires: bone guardian
Usage
  • cast flesh beast <corpse>

This necromancer spell forms an animated creature using the flesh and blood from a fresh corpse. Some corpses are more amenable to providing raw materials than others, and the bodies of undead are particularly difficult to use.

Flesh beasts have no intelligence and are largely uncontrollable, but will assist the caster in combat and take damage. Flesh beasts have no skeleton and can change shape at will, and are resistant to a blunt damage as a result. They are more vulnerable to edged weapons.

This spell is part of the necromancer 'Animation' skill tree, which allows the creation of several different types of animated entities. Each has different strengths and weaknesses, but due to the nature of the magic you may only control one at a time.

Animated entities such as this require a small amount of mana to sustain, and may come apart if you run out of mana.

Notes

  • Summoning a flesh beast requires a corpse; only certain corpses will work
  • A flesh beast is a blob, so it resists crushing and piercing attacks but is weak to slashing attacks
  • A flesh beast is weak to poison, cold, and fire attacks
  • A flesh beast has a low armor class and dexterity
  • A flesh beast requires 1 control point
  • Only 1 animated minion is allowed at once (see control points)
