The thief 'fast talking' skill can be used in a number of situations, generally to create enough doubt in the mind of a mark for the thief to escape unscathed. Thieves that concentrate on shoplifting and petty theft generally have this skill, as it requires more interaction with marks than unattended burglary and dungeon plundering. The skill used automatically when the situation requires it.
Having a high charisma greatly improves the success of this skill.
