A curse is an exclusively cleric type spell that instead of causing direct damage, adversely affects a character's stats or state in some way. The affect is temporary and usually undesirable, although sometimes players will cast overconfidence on themselves as an alternative to valor. Curses can be removed using the cleric spell remove curse.
