cast gaze [target]
The 'gaze' spell is the lowest level distance/location spell and knowledge thereof forms the basis for the entire scrying spellgroup.
The spell permits the remote viewing of a certain location. By specifying some abstract parameter, the caster (and anyone else nearby) can see a random location based on that keyword. For example, to see part of some arbitrary mountain:
'cast gaze mountain'
The usefulness of this spell debatable, but casters can occasionally find practical application of the spell when using it to gaze on locations with well-known proper names, such as:
'cast gaze messina'
This would result in gazing some part of Mount Messina, a well-known landmark in northern Cornia.
If no parameter is specified, a completely random location will be gazed.
