Defensive fighting allows you to switch into a defensive stance. This stance will greatly increase your ability to dodge and parry at the cost of greatly lowering your attack speed.
Also, while defensive fighting you will not be able to use any offensive techniques such as kick or trip, and casting spells with also be much harder.
Notes
- You can use riposte while defending; it syngerizes well with the increased parrying ability
