Usage

• cast preservation <object>

The 'preservation' spell retards the decay of corpses and some other types of organic matter. While the spell is in effect, the object will not decay, nor will it be edible by scavengers. When the spell wears off, decay will continue. This spell is popular with necromancers, as it allows more 'raw material' to be stockpiled.

Note that it will not work on inorganic materials, but it is effective for prolonging the shelf life of food, such as butchered meat.
