The hatmaking skill allows you to craft various styles and colors of hats. You can see what kind of hats and the colors they can be using the 'tailor list' command.
You need access to weavers and stockpiles of textiles, so this skill can only be used in tailoring workshops. By using this command, you purchase suitable material for creating a hat.
You can use the 'where workshop' command to find tailoring workshops in cities.
If you know hatmaking and leathercraft, you can choose to craft hats from leather using the leathercraft skill.
You can add a feather to a hat. You can 'pluck' feathers from the corpses of birds and bird-like creatures such as griffins. A plumed hat may make the wearer appear more jovial and generally easier to approach.
