Experience
Experience (short form xp) is the numeric stat you need in order to level your character. It can be obtained by completing various tasks like killing mobs.
Cap
Caps are the maximum xp you will usually get for defeating a mob. Each total level has its own limit.
Overcap
It is possible to get more xp than your cap by defeating a particularly tricky mob for your level. This is rarely happens more than a few times for the same mob.
XP denting
Repeatedly doing the same thing over and over again will reduce the amount of xp given. This is not such a problem for low level characters but becomes more apparent the higher you level.
Rotating
In order to avoid the affects of denting rather than run the same area over and over again it is suggested that areas be rotated. Low level players maybe need to rotate between 2-4 areas while higher level characters need to rotate between 15 or more to get the full xp on each one.
Tips for running xp
- Rotate areas
- Join groups
- Use many spells/skills
- Explore
- Run dangerous aggro areas
- Perform primary task associated with your first class character. (e.g. Clerics can turn undead, heal area refresh etc)
