From the bottom of the staircase go {{icode|north;east;east}}, open the door and go south into a well kept living quarters, killing the dark elf who lives there.  The clue here is in the long description of the room.

Go east into the dark twisting corridors.  There are no obvious exits here so finding your way around is a mater of trail and error.  Go {{icode|east;south;south;west;south;south;south}} until you reach the throne of bones, dealing with any skeletons on the way.  Now go {{icode|east;east;south}} where you will be before a stone pedestal. type {{icode|look pedestal}} to examine it.

This pedestal is rough with age, but still in amazing condition. It stands
three feet off the ground and looks to have been crafted out of a dark
colored stone. A holy white light completely surrounds the pedestal and
whatever is on it.

The bag is guarded by a will-o-wisp, so quickly dispatch it and grab the bag, by typing {{icode|get bag pedestal}}, to complete the quest.
