First of all forget the notion of a best class, this is a mater or personal opinion and preference. Each class has different strengths and weaknesses, and may be better in certain situations or at defeating certain types of enemy. For example druids have solar weapons which work well at killing undead but are useless when underwater. Mages as a elemental caster class may be better against monsters that are weak to certain elemental attack types but their spells won't work in nocast rooms.
