While defensive fighting you will not be able to use any offensive techniques such as kick or trip. Being in defensive stance causes you to have a flat chance for a spell to not be cast (the mana is not consumed, you merely incur a moment of casting lag).

Notes

  • You can use riposte while defending; it syngerizes well with the increased parrying ability
