Help:Basic wiki editing guide

Creating and editing pages on the wiki is very easy, First create a wiki account this is linked to alter aeon and requires the name of a registered character and email address. Once verified click the edit tab on an existing page or create tab on a new page. Type any text and markup into the edit box and hit submit.

To create a new page

There are two ways to start a new page either create a link on an existing page and click it or open the page in the browser by typing it into the address bar http://wiki.alteraeon.com/index.php/<new page title>. Warning the page title is case sensitive so Town of Vermarken is not the same as town of vermarken. Only the first letter of the title is automatically capitalized.

Wiki markup can be used in the text to format how the page is displayed.

Categorizing a page

Pages can be put into one or more categories. It usually a good idea to add a least one category at the bottom of each page to help people find it. Type [[category:<category name>]] to add a new category to the page.

What should I write about

You can write about pretty much anything you want to as long as it relates to alter aeon. Some ideas might be:-

• Areas you have visited and know well.
• quests you have done
• tips on how to use certain spells and skills

check out Special:WantedPages these are pages that other editors have linked to that do not yet exist.

Always try and keep the content as objective as possible when writing in the main wiki space.
